Maddie Magoo had her 4 month check-up today and it went perfectly! The doctor was THRILLED with her weight gain - this baby girl weighed in at 13 lbs, 2.4 ounces! The doctor showed me her growth chart and it was like a vertical line, it had jumped so much. Maddie is 23 inches long, so it puts her in the 25-50% for weight and 10% for height. She's come such a long way from that 4 lb, teeny tiny thing that we brought home from the hospital. Her chunky thighs are seriously the cutest thing I've ever seen. And she smiles every time I squeeze them so obviously they get squeezed a lot.
We also got the stamp of approval for Maddie's minor surgery to take place in January. She was born with a small skin tag on her ear, which is apparently pretty common. And luckily, it doesn't seem that she has any other issues - she passed her newborn hearing test with flying colors and everything else looks fine, so she just has a little extra skin there. And I'm tired of people asking about it, haha. People need to focus on how happy and pretty she is, not the skin tag. The pediatrician referred us to a pediatric ENT specialist who also happens to be a plastic surgeon, and he says that he does these surgeries ALL the time. We know she will be in good hands and I am excited to get it removed, especially because the doctor said she will have minimal scarring, if any.
We ended the appointment on a crying note because Maddie had to get her next round of vaccination shots. She was not a happy camper but she only nursed for a couple of minutes afterwards and then conked out for 2 hours. Anna was thrilled to get to go "shoppin" after the appointment, and then we all came home and took a big nap. I've got some more pictures to share from the last couple of days, but I will have to do that post in the morning...this momma is ready for bed!!
