Disney World, Day One!

We are back from our week at Disney World in Orlando and seriously, what a week!! We had such an unbelievable blast, and both the girls did better than we ever could have imagined. Steve and I both love Disney World and have been numerous times together over the course of our 10 years together, and we were thrilled to be able to create such special memories with our daughters and to see Disney World through their eyes. It is truly magical to see what excites them and what catches their interest. This was their vacation and we were so happy to be along for the ride.

And even if they don't remember it in the years to come, they will have over 3,000 pictures to look back on fondly, lol!

On the car ride down - we had Mary Poppins on constant repeat and Anna was one happy camper.

Steve requested a day-by-day recap for the blog and I am happy to oblige. Plus, after looking at the pictures, I think it will help me get all the posts done faster. It will take me a while to get through all of these pictures!! So my apologies in advance for bombarding you all with Disney for the next few days but hopefully you will enjoy seeing our adventures. I do also plan to do a packing/logistics post for tackling Disney with a baby and a toddler, because who doesn't love logistics?

For those of you not familiar with Disney, there are 4 main parks - Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. We scheduled our days to be at one park in the morning, and then back to the hotel for a nap, and then a second park in the afternoon. Day One opened up at Magic Kingdom (of course!) and finished at Hollywood Studios!

The nice thing about going to Disney in early to mid December is that it isn't very crowded. We were just walking on to most of the rides this morning - who has time to wait in line with a toddler??

Anna was so adventurous and game to try all of the rides. The Mad Hatter's Tea Party was her absolute favorite, she rode this one several times!!

Dumbo was another favorite!

Disney recently renovated Fantasyland, and it was so much fun to check out! The circus theme was brilliant and Steve is eagerly awaiting the opening of the new roller coaster that they are building.

We got to meet many of the characters over the course of the trip. Anna was a little shy for these first few but after Day 1, she was a pro! We bought one of the souvenir autograph books for her and it was adorable to see her hand it over, watch the character sign it, and take it back with a "Tank Yew!" and a big hug.

Anna was SO excited to see Minnie Mouse!

We are contemplating doing something with the signatures, maybe scanning them onto a picture and getting it framed for her room.

Stopping for one of Daddy's favorite treats - a Mickey bar! We only bought one ice cream bar thinking that they could share, but we didn't make that mistake again. Daddy didn't get too much of this one!!

Note to self - the next time you go on vacation where you will be in tons of pictures, remember to pack your makeup, lol

Anna frequently requested the "Hello, Everybody" song from her music class throughout the trip, this picture is from one of those renditions.

This ride is the Astro Orbiter, and one that Steve had never ridden before. It went a lot faster than we thought it was going to, and was maybe not the best one for the kiddos! I had Anna in a crazy death grip thinking she was going to fly out of the rocket ship.

Of course we had to ride the carousel. Multiple times.

We were getting ready to walk out of the park when a familiar white dress caught my eye. Anna seriously just about peed her pants.

What a perfect ending to the morning!! We ALL conked out at the hotel after some quick baths (that Florida humidity is no freaking joke) and then it was on to Hollywood Studios!

Anna went to her first rock concert, with Mulch Sweat & Shears! She was hilarious to watch, clapping along and dancing.

Maddie was not impressed.

It even snowed!

Hollywood Studios has a fantastic Christmas lights display on their Streets of America. Anna and Maddie were both entranced with all of the lights and music.

What a great day to kick off our vacation and we were so excited to be there!!
