Valentine's Day is a holiday that I appreciate so much more now with little girls in the house. Pink, glitter, hearts, baking, lots of hugs and kisses - it really is a day made for daughters!
We started the day off by sweet-talking Daddy into staying late for our strawberry pancake breakfast tradition. Anna is on a huge pancake kick right now so you know she was a happy camper!! She loves to watch me cook and pancakes are a favorite - she will pull a chair over so she can see (or beg me to lift her up), help me count the pours onto the griddle, and then claps and squeals when the pancakes get flipped. So fun!
We had a few small gifts to exchange - Mommy got some jewelry, Daddy got a new pair of cuff links and a bottle of his new favorite Scotch. Anna got some play-dough and Maddie got a new toy.
Even SuSu and Poppy sent presents!
This picture is blurry but I thought it was too cute not to share.
After Anna woke up from her nap, we baked treats for some of her friends around the neighborhood. Anna was very conscientious in her taste-testing to make sure our baking was on par.
And of course both girls were wearing heart outfits today!
Sister love :-)
We saved our special Valentine's dinner for our date night the next weekend, but Anna made sure Maddie got a fun meal! Apples and apricots, yum.
We hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day too!
