Facebook friends got a peek at these pictures earlier and I thought they were too pretty not to share!
There is always a (very short) window of time in Georgia where we are free from pollen, heat, and mosquitoes. It is truly a golden time of Spring and even the most neglected backyards become idyllic. We have been spending as much time as we can outdoors, and when Steve arranged to take this week off of work, we decided to get started on our summer garden.
Anna has loved helping and keeps asking to go out in the garden. She has a collection of Bean-sized gardening tools and she even pulled out her old straw hat, completely on her own!
Anna's seedlings from her Easter basket from SuSu have all sprouted and we also bought her a few flower seedlings of her own to plant and water. We are also planning to fill up all of the bird feeders, which you can see from the windows in our breakfast nook. Anna enjoyed the hummingbirds last year so I am hopeful that we will get a bunch this year too. I love giving the girls chances to connect with nature and I am thankful that we can often do that in our own backyard!
Maddie has enjoyed her extended play times in the backyard, and spends her gardening time looking beautiful and pulling up grass. I love these pictures so much and so I have to share all of them!!
I could stare at that face for hours!
Don't let these pictures fool you - it's quite an adventure keeping this wiggle worm on the blanket!!
Aaaaand this is about the point where she decided my camera looked tasty - she inchwormed her way all the way up and starts gnawing on the strap!
Watching the trees
Quick swing break
And a quick car break
I love this little monkey
I love this little monkey too
Another quick swing break...how do we ever get anything done around here? haha
Anna giving Maddie a blanket, because she is such a sweet big sister!
We are optimistic for a good, plentiful garden this year. We are trying some new things this year (including starting a crop of asparagus for next year!) and it will be fun to see what we can grow!

We got a respite in the pollen and had a perfect morning at the park!
We made the trek down to the Renaissance Festival and it was fun, but COLD!
So many new sights and fun things = Anna lasted about 2 minutes on the road back home before she conked out.
Anna wanted to show Daddy her new art so we took a picture.
It wasn't long before Poppins was requested!!
A cousinly lunch at Cheesecake Factory
Poppy and SuSu took us all out to celebrate the end of tax season, and we opted to take Anna bowling for the very first time. She got a huge kick out of it, especially with the ball ramp!
Bean was so intrigued with the game that she ended up taking over all of our turns too, but we didn't mind!
Anna also thought the ball return was magical. We had a fun time and I am sure we will go again soon!
As you can see, it was a teensy bit difficult to take pictures in here, haha.
Anna took this picture, isn't she a good photographer?
