We were thrilled to have a visit from Uncle Brad (Steve's brother) and Hayley last weekend! Anna loved having house guests, and promptly toddler-changed "Uncle B" to "Bumblebee".
We had fun walking over to the park, having a pizza party, and then getting adventurous on Sunday with a trip to the Hillcrest Orchards up in Ellijay, Georgia. Anna chattered nonstop about Bumblebee and Hayley, and wanted to show them all of her toys. She was also very interested with the process of setting up our experimental guest quarters in the play room and its adjoining bathroom - it was about all I could do to convince her to stay off of the new air mattress!
Apple-picking is something that I look forward to in the fall, but let's be honest - it's hot and crowded. We managed to luck out by getting to the orchards early and beating most of the rush, but we still left without getting to do most of the farm's activities. Hillcrest Orchards is a fun place to visit though - we have gone several times before and look forward to going back again next year. If you plan to visit though, I highly suggest trying to go during the week!
Both girls adored the entire orchard experience. We saw Buttercup the cow, picked a bunch of apples, and fed the goats. Anna got a kick out of all of the big tractors and wagons, and seeing all of the other kids running around.
We plan to make a pie with all of our Granny Smith apples this week.
Thanks Bumblebee and Hayley, for a fun visit!
