We had such a fun Halloween this year! Anna was SO interested in all of the festivities and preparations, and I loved seeing her excitement!
Our neighbor Suzette organized the cutest neighborhood Trick-Or-Treat Kickoff party, conveniently right in our cul-de-sac.
I've gotten a few questions about Anna's costume. You can't just go buy a Mary Poppins costume, and I have appallingly few sewing skills. I bought a white flower girl dress from Amazon, and rummaged up the accent pieces at Joann's Fabrics. Everything is basically stitched on by hand, which probably sounds more impressive than it actually is, haha. Her "spats" are white socks with red buttons sewn on, and then I cut the heels and the toes off to fit over the shoes. Her hat is from Mudpie Baby, with the tulle from Joann's. The parasol and red cummerbund are also from Amazon. Maddie's costume is from Carter's.
Our initial plan was to let Anna trick-or-treat in our cul-de-sac and then hand out candy the rest of the night. She surprised us all by having a total blast trick-or-treating! We ended up going all the way down the main street in our neighborhood and then down the other side. Maddie and I came home halfway to dump our candy bowl into some lucky trick-or-treater's bag and to get Maddie in bed. Anna and Steve came home a good thirty minutes later with Anna still begging to do more!
Happy Halloween, everybody!
