After a busy month of traveling in the month of November, we proposed staying home for Christmas. Any of you with young children will surely sympathize!! Luckily, the Forbes clan willingly agreed to come to our house for Christmas, and we were happy to host. We were a little intimidated to be in charge of Christmas, as Steve's parents normally host and they always do such a good job, but boy did we all have such a great time and had such a fun Christmas!
As I might have mentioned in my last post, the girls have gotten a total kick out of the month of December. Here they are opening presents from my friend Kara. Their excitement and enthusiasm bring such joy to this season!

I think Steve was on hour 2 of this play kitchen put-together on Christmas Eve and Kristy was helpfully bartending.
What the girls woke up to Christmas morning!! Anna had us up bright and early and I had to send the text message that "creatures were stirring!" at 6:30. I know this present pile looks excessive but with 9 people in the house, this is what you get!
The girls' playhouse was a total hit! I had my heart set on this particular house for them and after having it sold out at all the stores, I was so happy to finally find one for them.
Their new kitchen from Poppy and SuSu was also a major hit.
Maddie liked all of the phones.
Maddie also got a little baby doll with which she is currently obsessed.

Anna adored her new tutu pajamas and slippers.
After brunch, we ventured outside to test out Steve's present - an adult-sized Big Wheel!
High fives for Maddie!
Aunt Kristy sharing her gloves.
During nap time on Boxing Day, we squeezed in a White Elephant gift exchange, with various levels of success.
After a lunch full of leftovers, we ventured out to shoot off rockets, which was one of Steve's favorite things to do as a kid.
I couldn't decide between these two pictures so I posted them both :-). Isn't she such a cutie?

The final Forbes Family Foray was to Stars and Strikes, which is a local bowling alley/arcade. Anna quickly lost interest in having to wait her turn for bowling so SuSu and I took the girls out to the arcade.
All the Christmas excitement finally started catching up to my lovebug. Anna wasn't too far behind her either - we enjoyed some extended naps this day!!
Steve's other big present was a starter setup for a saltwater aquarium. We had to stop by Petco to pick up a few supplies so Anna made sure to show her new dog Ben the fish.
On Saturday my sister stopped by to exchange our gifts. We normally do a brunch with Allyson and her family every year but they caught some kind of nasty vomit plague so we took a raincheck. I am so happy they are feeling better (and I'm sure they are too!!). Auntie Ally brought Anna a real ballerina outfit and ballet slippers - she is in heaven! As soon as I can drive again we plan to sign her up for a ballet class.
These are the girls' ornament collection additions for this year. Maddie's is the xylophone to celebrate all of her musical interests this year, and Anna's is Sully from Monster's Inc...a movie that has been on near-constant repeat recently.
We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
