Sweeties in the Smokies

Our friends Derek and Jessica invited us to their family's Gatlinburg cabin again this year and we were so excited to go! The Smoky Mountains are beautiful and the cabin had perfect mountain views.

We started a day off at the best local pancake restaurant, The Pantry. We then went to the Ripley's Aquarium...it ended in one of Anna's tantrums of all tantrums, but before that happened, we all had a great time.

The weekend was rounded out with some shopping, miniature golf, and lots of fun with friends!

Snow Bunnies!

One of my main Christmas gifts this year were annual passes to Stone Mountain park for my family. We have been so excited to take the girls to Snow Mountain, and it certainly didn't disappoint. We are already figuring out another weekend to go before it closes!

After last year's Snowpocalypse and with Snow Mountain on our calendar, I vowed to get the girls some legitimate snow gear. I had to order it all online since the local Atlanta retailers seem reluctant to stock anything but it all came in time and the girls were so tickled with their new boots and "poofy pants".

Steve gave me such a hard time about decking them out in full snow suits but it was perfect for Snow Mountain - the girls stayed warm and dry the whole time we were there, and outlasted countless kids leaving with soaking wet jeans and shoes. So high five, Macy's and Amazon.

Snow Mountain has a whole area dedicated to younger children and it was perfect. They had a line of small ramps that the kids could tube down. I was worried that Maddie would be scared but she loved it. She and Anna went down at least half a dozen times!

Maddie looks like SUCH a baby here - I love capturing little baby moments like this with my girl who's growing all too quickly!

Picture Post!

This picture post is a short one but I had some super cute photos that I didn't want to fall through the Flickr cracks!

I thought I already blogged this so sorry if it's a repeat - the girls were excited to open new books from their (my) friend Kara!

We had a week in December that lined up with several baby visits. The girls, especially Anna, got a massive kick out of having babies in the house and begged to hold them and play with them. This one above is baby Matthew, the cutie pie son of our friends Kathryn and Chris. Even several weeks later Anna still asks when Baby Matthew is coming back to play.

I think Daniel likes his minion hat! If you haven't seen Despicable Me, you should - it's a fun movie.

I took about a dozen pictures of the kids and this seriously was the best one of the bunch. It's hard enough getting two kids to look and smile at the same time but three?? Good luck with that!

I think these sunglasses are Aunt Kristy's but Maddie has confiscated them.

This is still her favorite thing to do at the park - such a monkey!
