We always have a great time in Charleston and this Thanksgiving was no exception.
The first morning that we were there, we took the girls to the local children's museum. We had always heard good things about it, and it certainly didn't disappoint. It was a perfect way to get the girls out for a little while!
We all signed up for the Charleston's Thanksgiving 5k race, even though only the guys ran it. SuSu sponsored turkey costumes for the Gobble Wobblers and the kids - aren't they so cute?
The race ran right by the house, so we went out to the corner to watch for the guys to run by. Maddie and Anna were so cute in their costumes, and they would stand on the sidewalk with their hands out so runners could give them high-fives.
Anna surprised everyone by running a good bit of the last part with Steve!
We were amused to see that our turkeys made the local paper's website the next morning!
We took the girls over to the Patriots Point Naval Museum and let them explore the USS Yorktown and all of the aircraft.
I think we were looking for dolphins here.
One of the events that Anna and Maddie had been most excited about was getting to visit the school where SuSu teaches. They even roped SuSu into an impromptu science lesson!
The perfect segue from Thanksgiving to Christmas - a good round of carols!
